Yesterday we had our annual church meeting and dinner. What a blessing to share our stories of what the Lord has been doing in our lives this year through the church. We heard about answered prayer, testimonies of how the Lord has been bringing adult children into sobriety, how we have come along side one another and inspired one another in so many ways. Through joys and sorrows and every day life, we have been together. Because we belong to this church family, we never have to feel lonely or unsupported. We find help, hope, comfort and strength in the unity we share.
Maria shared a poem she wrote on this subject.
MY SAFE HAVEN
by Maria Pfirman
The house of my Lord is a haven to me,
safe from all harm; a place to be me.
A place where love and peace abounds,
where no one can mock me or put me down.
A place where my Savior holds me tight,
and tells me always, "It will be all right."
May the Lord continue to draw us close to Himself and one another. May He add to our numbers each day those who are being saved. May He continue to teach us to love one another with His love that never fails.
Let's not wait a whole year to communicate our stories. What has our Lord been doing in your life through His church?
